Who We Are
The Foundation for the Welfare of the Crippled was established in 1954 and came under the gracious patronage of the Royal Grandmother in 1955. It is a private non-profit institution for public benefit. The Foundation then set up Srisangwal School in 1965.
Our objective is to help handicapped children help themselves.
What We Do
We provide 24-hour and 7-day care, accommodation and meals to over 300 handicapped children.
We provide rehabilitation and regular physical therapy to help the children to improve their physical abilities and overcome their physical disabilities, so that they will be able to help themselves in the future.
We provide education for children aged 3 to 18. The school offers the standard curriculum of the Ministry of Education from kindergarten to Grade 9 as well as special classes for mentally handicapped children.
Students are especially encouraged to participate in music, sports and various extra-curricular activities.
We aim to equip students with basic vocational skills which will enable them to earn a living and help themselves after they leave the school. These include computer programming, hairdressing and basic cooking.
We provide support and follow-up on the welfare of present and former students through home visits, procurement of wheelchairs and other mobility aids, as well as academic scholarships.
What We Achieve
Smiling faces: happy children in a supportive, loving and caring environment.
Successful alumni: graduates who are able to support themselves and go on in life to excellence, including Paralympic medalists, top academic professionals, and business owners.
Please Donate
Our main source of funds is from donations by individuals, the private sector, and government agencies.
Limited sponsorship has allowed our foundation to continue our hard work in a limited manner, but we are still unable to provide the level of comprehensive and adequate assistance we strive for. Our foundation lacks sufficient funds for treatment, therapy, wheelchairs, metal casts, and scholarships. Treatment facilities are inadequate to meet the needs of the handicapped. Please help us help the children.
